Elizabeth Week 3

I promise when life evens out this will be more than just a record of Elizabeth’s life. But until then, that’s just what it is because I don’t want to forget these precious little moments. Hard to believe that in just 6 days she’ll be 4 weeks. Experienced moms, does that mean she’s a month old at that point or is she a month when she hits her birthday in the next month, like July 22nd? I’m confused:)

She’s getting so big…barely fits on the pouf sideways. Might need to get creative next week:)

Weight: I’m thinking around high eights or right at 9

Sleeping: This week I’m certain she had a growth spurt. She’s been eating non-stop and sleep has been consistently between 3-4 hours at night.

Eating: This week I tried pumping for the first time and the effort paid off because Elizabeth took a bottle really easily. I’m excited to keep giving it to her 1-2x/week in hopes that we can get out sometimes without her. She drank 2 oz. and wanted more. So I’m thinking she’s eating right between 3-4 ounces.

Likes: Bathtime is making her less angry so maybe she’s warming up to the idea. Otherwise she likes laying on her tummy (on someone), doing baby aerobics with daddy, listening to her lullaby cd and eating:)

Dislikes: Tummy time on her own

Diapers and Clothing: She’s so grown up. This week she leapt into 0-3 month clothing and size 1 diapers. Breaks my heart a bit.

Firsts: Time taking a bottle, being left home with grandma, visit to Crate and Barrel, 36 hours of pure grumpiness (thinking gassy baby and growth spurt), time to Bethlehem to hear her get announced:) She squawked of course and we needed to run out and calm her down!

Overall this week has been one of the more challenging…so thankful my mom is in town to help around the house and keep Elizabeth company while we try to nap and stay afloat. Her 2 days of grumpiness were hard but we made it through and I’m happy to say she’s back to her happy self.

  1. What a girl! :-) She's mucho adorable! So for the age thing, I usually said the weeks unless they were within a week of their month...and past like 3 months, I just said the month that they turned. But it's very much a wing it sort of thing.

  2. She is such a doll!! I love the photo of her sleeping - what is it with newborns and jazz hands? :) P.S. Our little girl has that same outfit from Elizabeth's first week photo - isn't it the cutest? And I've been wondering about the weeks v. months thing, too!
